Kappa Sigma Beta-Rho History

The Beta-Rho chapter of Kappa Sigma was originally colonized at the University of Iowa on October 9, 1902.  The organization was re-colonized on the Iowa campus in 1969. After a strong run, the Beta-Rho chapter had been dormant since 2003 prior to re-colonizing at the University of Iowa on October 9, 2012. After the long re-chartering process, the chapter of 56 men was initiated on March 29, 2014. The chapter has initiated a total of 782 brothers since its 1902 founding. During the 2016 year, Beta-Rho was also able to successfully acquire a new Chapter Structure at 716 N Dubuque St. which currently houses 20 live-in members and a house manager. Looking to the future, Beta-Rho plans to focus primarily on strengthening the components of the organization dealing with brotherhood, academic achievement, philanthropic success, and notoriety on the University of Iowa campus and in Kappa Sigma's national organization.
